SEVEN QUESTIONS WITH... JENNIFER ZEUNER

Founder, designer and working mom Jennifer Zeuner leads a busy life style—and does it all with style. So we asked her for her personal style inspo and how she gets it all done. Here's what she said.

- In your own words, please describe your style

I'm a Gemini, which means that my style is 100% a reflection of my mood. Sometimes I dress refined (think high-waisted, pleated pants and a vintage button-down) and at times I embrace the latest trend (hello, neon pumps!).

The one constant in my style is that i always feel comfortable in what I'm wearing. Like Iris Apfel said "I don't dress to be stared at. I dress for myself."

- Who is your style icon?

My style icons are Helen Mirren, Lupita Nyongo, Jennifer Lopez and Sienna Miller.

- What is your favorite outfit you've ever worn?

I think it's the Stella McCartney dress I wore to my oldest son's Bar Mitzvah. I had fallen in love with this dress in black (I mean, Gwyneth Paltrow wore it to the Grammys!) and when I saw it in the store in navy and white, I had to try it on. I had just met Stella McCartney around the same time. She embodies the ultimate, authentic designer (all vegan accessories) and I fell in love with her. She's humble and cool and just everything I admire in women. Wearing her design to my son's party was one of my favorite style moments ever.

- How do you balance your business and family life?

Balance is fluid. Some days I don't go into the office and work from home (thank you, iPhone!) and other days I'm not even in town to pick up the kids from school. There really isn't a daily "balance formula" but overall balance does exist in my sometimes chaotic life. The most important factor and what I continuously strive for, is being present when I'm with my kids. Also, having a great support system is essential. I do travel a lot and have to accept that I need a lot of help! Thankfully, my husband is always available to be with the kids when I'm not around and the office runs extremely smoothly without me.

- What's the best vacation you've ever taken?

Last summer we went to Capri and Positano, Italy and I can't wait to go back. I loved the food, the views, the people and mostly, the energy.

- What are your favorite beauty products?

I'm a sucker for all beauty products. In fact, we are about to redo our bathroom and organizing the enormous amount of products that I have is a priority in the design. I currently love a new Shiseido sunblock called WASO. I use it under Armani foundation during the week and as foundation on weekends. I also love Clé de Peau concealer and Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum.

- What is your favorite part about being a designer?

I love that I'm always aware that anything can inspire me. I look at everything with eyes and a brain that are hypersensitive to being inspired. Whether it's a building or a color combination on a painting, inspiration is everywhere. Living with this awareness is a blessing I don't take for granted.
